The IMANI Gospel Singers

They were AWESOME!!!

A concert was given by the IMANI Gospel Singers yesterday to raise funds for Visions Camp, a camp for teens. The turnout was pretty good. However, I think that we were most profited by the choir itself. WOW!!!

Unfortunately, they don't have a website up yet, so I can't refer you to samples of their music. You'll just have to invite them to your church...after you move to Canada, of course!

I find that a lot of Gospel music is characterized by power, and this group was no exception. The strength of their voices blended flawlessly to proclaim lyrics on the Majesty of the Lord, His Power, His Willingness to bless us, His Sure Victory, and encouragement for us to hold on until He Wins for us. Yes, surely He Wins the battle for us. They sang songs by the famous Kirk Franklin and Yolanda Adams, among others; but they also included their own arrangements. They were so inspiring!

"Imani" means Faith in Swahili ("Iman" is the Arabic word for Faith; it's close). At the bottom of their program, they wrote, "Where there is Faith, there is Hope!" True; Faith is the goal of our Hope, and Faith causes us to hope. Yesterday the IMANI gospel singers showed it.

Well it looks like a good excuse to move to Canada!
